Back Issues

I was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 18 months during open heart surgery. Fast forward to when I was 14 years old, I had Herrington rods surgically inserted along my spine. I also suffer from Spondylitis, which is a condition that weakens the spinal cord due to arthritis of the joints and ligaments. Despite these challenges, I have been a competitive athlete before and after surgery. However, for a period of time, I stopped lifting weights and I noticed that my pain had increased tremendously. It became evident that consistent exercise using sound technique was critical for my health. This history is what drew me to training; I want to help others with back injuries and related issues succeed.  I truly dedicate myself to training and back strengthening.

My history of back injuries, and at times sporadic training, informs my approach to helping athletes in their recovery journey. Most folks know they need to strengthen their core and skeletal muscles to recover, but don't fully understand that form and consistency are key. I will work with you at whatever stage of recovery you are at to help strengthen, stretch, and adapt your workout to improve your quality of life.

Harrington Rods.

These Harrington rods were placed in my back at 14 years old and remain there today. I competed in football, soccer, baseball, golf, and weightlifting all since having these rods "installed."
